Dark Velvet Pants

Bullet Encased Leather Tassel
Rows & Den .com

Velvet Trouser: Thrifted

Black Suede Belt with Gold Buckle

Silk Leopard Print Jacket: Thrifted

I started off my day today feeling a little too cluttered. Too many things can build up and pile on top of one another if we aren't careful to stay organized. And this goes for your
physical body (the food you're putting in)
home (miscellaneous items i.e. clothes, tabletops, how much of it do you really need?)
mental health (are you keeping your mind clear of distractions so that you can focus on yourself, watching too much tv, computers, allowing others to influence your thoughts)
As we transition into winter, I find myself seeing way too much, that no longer serves me in a positive way. At this specific time in my life I am figuring out what I want, my goals, dreams, and lifestyle. There is a theme of change happening everywhere I look. I strongly believe that change cannot take place, sink in, take root... if there is no room for it to be welcomed. And change should be something that we openly welcome. Now I for one, am very used to and comfortable with the old. And that is something I never want to be able to proudly say. Therefore, today I am cleaning house. I started off my morning with a wonderfully long two hour yoga session, took my wonderfully amazing dog to the ocean, and am going to purge my life of the old, to allow bountiful space for the new. The first place being my closet...See you soon Goodwill. Wish me luck.
I've been wanting to wear these velvet pants for such a long time now. They were a happy find while thrifting, but having an occasion to wear them is another story. They're the comfiest dress pants I own by far, and I love the slight harem look that they have (after some of my own personal alterations were applied).  I paired these pants with a classic cream button up chiffon blouse. The sleeves on this top are big and billowy, which gives the top such a feminine quality that I adore. The sleeves also match the looseness of the velvet pant. I rolled the bottoms of the pant to show some ankle and give definition to the legs then added a very large velvet pump to elongate my legs even more than the pant already (thankfully) does. Pairing the pants and top with a skinny suede belt to add definition to my waist. Finishing off the look with an amazing 90's style 100% silk zip up jacket. The jacket really helps to give this outfit a younger more fun feel.

Knit Socks and Wool Sweaters

 Lush // Tobi

Bronx Tam Me Bought // Urban Outfitters

I'm very happy and very, very excited about the next coming months..for a couple reasons :)
  • I am now officially the proud owner of Rows &, which is an online store selling my jewelry and photography prints. I've been working on this for quite some time now, and am finally seeing the business heading in the right direction. Please check it out, (things are selling out already!) and feel free to purchase anything that you find lovely.
  • I also have a new project in the works. And it's something I didn't even see coming. More details on that later...
  • And lastly, I will be getting up my online closet to shop, once I get a few more things squared away on that business front.
This past week has seemed really crazy...I don't know if it's just me, but so many things have happened. I've been feeling a little more intense than I should. I'm a firm believer that life shouldn't be taken so seriously, yet I still over-think, worry, stress,  and finish out the day by going through my list of everything I still have to do tomorrow...Tomorrow. A day that completely hasn't arrived and as of that moment fails to exist. Yet I am consumed by it already. What's with that? I'm throwing the rule book out the window and going to just not worry. That's a crazy, irrational, mixed up concept...I know. But it's happening. And to tell the truth..I've never felt better. So to those of you reading this, that have had a week like mine, it's time to liberate yourself, step outside your head, and go do something fun. It's time to feel some genuine joy.
And that's what this post is about. The day's are getting colder, I live in California, but luckily, I still get to see some leaves fall off of certain tress..Like these in my photo.  I needed to take advantage of the scenery which meant a wool sweater and knit thigh highs. I bought this sweater a while back from H&M. I love the vintage pattern on the front and the crop even more. I paired the top with some eyelet high waisted shorts, to balance out the cowl neck of the sweater. These cream knit thigh high socks are one of my favorite pieces of clothing that I don't get to wear nearly as much as I would like. I purchased them years ago (at a children's clothing store..) and have attempted to pair them with getups that just didn't go. Happily, for me, they compliment the sweater nicely, and with a gray suede boot, they really tie the whole outfit in, and make it pop. For a little bit of sparkle I added a bullet encased cream leather necklace, that can be found at my store (link above). And lastly, piled my hair on top of my head in a messy bun to go with the fun vibe of the socks.

Rain Clouds Above the Railroad Tracks

Hat: H&M

Royal Blue Collared Button Up: Forever 21

Sweater: Full Tilt

Shorts: Forever 21

Purse: Deena & Ozzy (Bought at Urban Outfitters)

Bullet Encased Crystal Necklace: Rows & Den

As rain clouds began to roll over the Santa Barbara Mountains, I felt that lovely chill that comes with Fall. I'm feeling extra festive and the weather is being so lovely and accommodating to my Autumn mood, so today I layered up. I'm not sure if preppy is still a style, but it definitely used to be, and it definitely was never mine. Every once in a while though, I can't help but utilize certain aspects of that oh-so-crisp-and-clean garb...For instance; a nice button up layered underneath a sweater with the collar sticking out. Yes folks, it's all about the collar. I like to think I gave this classic look my own touch. Underneath a (very) loosely knit burgundy sweater, I wore a royal blue, sleeveless, button up from Forever 21. The blue tank hasn't gotten much wear in my closet because of the style, but I love it underneath this sweater. The colors compliment eachother nicely, and the blue from the undershirt peaks out through the knit adding a fun peek-a-boo effect. I wore both tops with a classic pair of black high waisted shorts. These shorts are great for making any outfit a little more formal, and the pretty knit on the sides is a wonderful feminine touch to any look. I added a suede belt from American Apparel to define my waist, then topped off the look with a bowlers cap and some simple black boots. And just for a little sparkle, I added a gold bullet encased crystal necklace tucked underneath the collar. Overall, I love this look, and could really wear it for anything, while still looking Fall festive.

White Eyelet

Leather Jacket: Tobi
Crop Top: American Eagle Outfitters
Skirt: Forever 21
Heels: L.A.M.B.
Okay, so I know that it’s October, and that means Fall is here. But in lovely Santa Barbara it is still warm, therefore I will push these summer outfits as long as I can :) This particular look is a very Chelsea-Den-customized original. The skirt was in fact a summer dress that I’ve had for years and years. The eyelet pattern on the bottom is so beautiful, but the dress style was a little plain, and I haven’t worn it in a few summers. I didn’t want the skirt to go to waste, so out the scissors came. A few slight alterations later, and I have a wonderful high waisted skirt. I paired it with a detailed, white, crop top to make an all white summer look. I paired the top and skirt with a thick brown belt that helps to define my waist and break up my body to give me some length in my torso. I added a solid pair of heels to give my legs that long look, that is always so helpful to us short girls. And, of course I have a jacket for when the sun goes down, and the creamy leather also helps to tie in the nude heels.
