This summer has ended up being the summer for beach bon fires and I have been looking for the perfect outfit for such an occasion. Now, let’s get one thing out in the open right now… I have mixed feelings about pants, and particularly denim. I love how pants look and the things you can do with them in regards to a lovely outfit, but I would so much rather not wear them simply because I don’t think they’re all that comfy…but when that big california sun sets on those hills the temperature drops, and I am a wimp in the cold. So after a few failed attempts at keeping warm with the overgrown-sweaters-over-the-shorts combo, I have given into a solid pair of denim on my beach nights. These boyfriend jeans will keep me warm for when the sun goes down, while still staying comfy and cozy all at the same time.

Boyfriend jeans have been a trial and error kind of thing for me. The baggy look doesn’t do a whole lot to help my 5 foot 3 inch frame look longer, and I tend to resist trends that make my legs appear shorter than they already are..  I have had this particular pair of denim folded up in my closet for the past couple years untouched(too big). I figured at this point the only thing I could do was try to improve them, it’s not like they were being worn the way they were.. I broke out my scissors and went to work. A couple holes later, I had a wonderful pair of boyfriend jeans that I couldn’t be more excited about. The huge holes show off enough leg that the denim isn’t too baggy and doesn’t shrink me down in height like most boyfriend jeans.
