Kimono-Hanger 221 // Romper-Hanger 221 // Lace Bralette // Purse-Matt & Nat (Urban Outfitters) // Belt-Vintage // Jewelry-Chelsea Den Jewelry
I just fell in love with this kimono the second that I put it on. It's definitely a statement piece and I can't help but feel a little magical when I walk around outside with it and it flows all around me. I paired it with one of my new rompers that is a tiny little thing that definitely could use a longer jacket therefore the kimono was perfect! I added a little quartz crystal necklace of mine just because that's been my necklace of the moment. We photographed this outfit in such a beautiful theater here in Santa Barbara- I knew the overcast light would be perfect to add some moodiness for the photos, and they turned out perfectly.
It's been a big month, and my blog really took a toll because of it. So I'm sorry for the long absence of outfit posts. Earlier this month I experienced the one year mark of my dad's passing. Last year he was diagnosed with stage 4 cancer and 9 months later he was gone. It's taken me all year to really just voice out loud- my grieving process was difficult and I wasn't sure how to even begin feeling until recently. If you follow my Instagram you'll see a post about him on the year anniversary earlier this month, and I just wanted to say here, what I said there; I've learned from all of this that life is a fragile, beautiful, inspiring, intricate force that is meant to be enjoyed, experienced, felt completely through to the core. And that's what's really truly important- enjoying life and finding happiness in all of it's moments. If you can figure that out then you're absolutely golden. I'm taking my own advice and doing what's best for me to maintain a happy vibe going as often as I can, which usually means listening to lots and lots of happy, bouncy music, doing yoga, playing my ukulele, cooking lots of healthy, colorful food, taking my favorite little dog to the beach or just going on a walk...I'll even just go lay in the sun and can instantly feel my body recharging! When I do all of this my work is so much more productive, happy, and I feel motivated and have so many ideas. Tell me what you guys do to recharge and get your mindset back to a good place! And I hope you all have a happy, joyful rest of your week!
